Thanks for your outstanding coverage of the anarchy that is going on in Madagascar. I hope you continue to do such concise reporting, I feel as though we have been right there with you the whole time.

Keep up the good work! I am watching your posts like a hawk now… hope everything is resolved over there very soon.

Thank you very much, we appreciate it so much over here. If you can believe it, it isn’t even in the news over here. If it wasn’t for you and your fellow bloggers, we would have no idea what is happening over there to our families. I certainly hope that the “plan” is not true (it almost appears so with what has happened). The last thing that Madagascar needs is to have Ratsiraka back… nor another opportunity for trouble this Saturday. You said it quite well when speaking about TGV and the mayor… we are certainly swimming in a river named stupidity.

It is one thing to see it in the media, but quiet another to hear it directly from someone who was there. It is such a very sad time for Madagascar, and I sit everyday wondering what kind of change it is that all of the people are running to. Your entry was very concise, it took me through Saturday all over again from beginning to end. It felt as if I was there and it made me angry and frustrated all over again.

Let us all hope that they do not attempt to “install” any more ministers and that the EU and AU can help bolster more dialog to prevent this type of tradgedy again. Thanks again for the post.

I commend you for your initiative. Local media are so poor in observation and analysis, and have proven themselves to be great in lack of objectivity and professionalism. When you live overseas, you want to know realities. News have become quite a bit scarce for the last few days -both locally and internationally-: what is going on exactly? There is just so much information that families can give. What about Constitutional law in Madagascar? Madagascar does not need another “forum” that would be just another platform to give ways to bad political agendas. According to reported quotations of the FFKM by local media, one can wonder if it does not show bias in its “mediation.” Did I miss it or there was never a public condemnation of incitation to violence, anarchy and local terrorism so to speak? Thank you for keeping us informed.

Thank you from the Amsterdam, the Netherlands aswell! I find it quite difficult to read the malagasy newspapers, eventhough i can speak fluent french, they use a different french then i am used to and i dont know from whose perspective they are writing. And most of it is lies to fill the newspaper anyway.
Thank you and i wish you lots of courage in these dark times. unfortunately most Malagasy can’t read your blog.
Hope a wise man, can lead your country. Hey, what about pere pedro? Oh, i guess he’s not gasy…

The following originates from an SOS for publishing a live Malagasy radio broadcast today March 23 2009:

Radio Fanazava, broadcasting in Malagasy and interviewing eye witnesses, reported a shooting rampage on unarmed civilian protesters. For over two hours militaries pursued ran away manifestants through several neighboring parts of town, forcing their ways to individuals’ homes where some manifestants sought safety. There were initial reports of at least two fatal casualties at the time of the broadcast, and several critically-wounded, of which two young passerby children. A witness described a gruesome scene when a manifestant was shot at the head. One man reported that Antananarivo population has reacted with raging violence to the overwhelming repression.

To all innocent foreigners who don’t happen to know who is whom in the Malagasy political rings and their followers and just want to search for more news from Mcar, I just want to point out that this blog is highly one-sided. If you speak French, it’s better to read L’ Express de Mada or Madagascar-Tribune who are long-time actors in the journalism area and have been known as objective. Don’t even try the Madagascar Times, just because it is in English!!. It is a very one-sided newspaper as well. The content of L’Express de Madagascar is mostly picked up by Allafrica.com and translated into English.

The politics in Mada, is a bit like a documentary from 9/11:
    http://www.loosechange911.com/

A lot of conspiracy issues to be solved in Mcar.

Very few Malagasy speak English fluently like AndryDago so no one really has a blog in English. But then, the english speaking Malagasy community is mainly made up of anglo-saxon-trained scholars who are hired and financed by the Ra8′s government, since he was carrying out a strictly Republican agenda at the beginning.
